Kensington Crater Camp is a wilderness tented camp close to the
rim of the Ngorongoro caldera. Nearly three million years old,
the ancient caldera of the once-volcanic Ngorongoro shelters one
of the most beautiful wildlife havens on earth, ringed with towering
walls and sheltering forests, grasslands, fresh springs and a
large soda lake. Preserving the harmony and intimacy of the reserve,
this camp has only six tents with skilled friendly staff. Each
Suswa tent is luxuriously spread in a forested grove with spectacular
views across the plains.
Location
Tucked in a wooded valley a few minutes’ drive from the
crater rim, the camp offers an intimate experience in the misty
reaches of Ngorongoro park. Cool and crisp in the high altitude,
with a breathtaking vista. Arriving by air, you land at the Manyara
airstrip and transfer inside the Ngorongoro Conservation Area
to the crater's rim.
